Registration time, brothas!
I'm new to this community but not UK. This is my fifth year, due for a sixth, and I've taken too many credits not to be graduating ;;_; But I still have two studios and one or two other classes to go, so there we are.

Registration time is nigh!! And I need to stay full time for financial reasons, but don't want to overwhelm myself with multiple studios and such. I'm looking for an easy A about three hours long.

Care to tell me your favorite lightweight classes?

I was thinking about maybe signing up for a business management or finance class, but I have no idea how much work they are or how much they would help me as an art student who just wants to manage myself as an artist and hopefully later become a producer to manage other people. But I would like to branch out beyond my usual art, computer, and Japanese classes. Also considered anatomy (would help with drawing), but I think that has potential to be a scary class for med students, yes? Or communication. Or marketing. Trying to avoid papers and take a class that is memorization and tests and lectures only.

moving
Hi! I don't actually live in Lexington right now, and thus feel a little like an internet poseur. However, I am about to sign my life away to become an indentured servant/graduate student at UK... so I will be moving over the summer to your fair city.

this is about to be the longest post ever.... and sorry if you have to see it twice!Collapse )

So I heard one of our congressmen complaining on NPR this morning about how horrible the new voting machines are.  I actually loved them and thought they were great.  My guess is that folks who didn't like them are more likely to complain than folks who did like them, write in to say they are great.  Normally I wouldn't care either way, but the congressman who was complaining said he didn't want KY to buy anymore of the machines, when it was pretty apparent to me that we definitely need more, to cut down on all the long lines.  So I looked for an easy way to send feedback on the elections and found this page:  http://www.sos.ky.gov/elections/contactelections.htm

Whatever your impression was of the machines, I hope you'll fill out the form, so they will have a balanced view of how people liked them.

bible study
Wellll, I'm new to Lexington and I'd like to get involved in a church, preferably a good bible study group of other people in their 20's. I'm currently non-denominational and pretty liberal, but I'm open-minded about any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks. I just got an e-mail informing me that the Campus Ruckus is taking place at the Seaton Center gym, not Haggin Field, due to the weather.

Ok, campus ruckus apparently starts tomorrow at 9. Anyone interested in grabbing a drink and talking about being new here before wandering off to the revelry? (and I hope someone who reads this knows the campus well enough to tell me where the ruckus acutally will be because I have no idea)

as it's one of the few places I can find, I was thinking about the bar next to Tolly-Ho's? Maybe around 7:30-8?
